Life's a Beach

I am a beach girl.  I love everything about the beach.  My family’s yearly beach trip to the one and only Ocean Isle Beach is something my siblings and I, as well as cousins, aunt, uncles and grandma, look forward to every year.   This year was on or about the 20th year my family has been going.  Same beach, different houses.  I absolutely love it there.  There is just something about it, nostalgic and beautiful, that makes me so happy and relaxed for that week I am there.  My siblings all feel the same way.  It is really exciting to think about the future.  We are growing up, getting married and when we have kids of our own, we all want to take them there the way our parents, grandparents, and aunt and uncles did for us and our cousins.  This really helped us stay friends, if you will, and I truly believe that is important to all of us!

I’ve always been a believer that things happen in 3’s – good and bad.  I get this from my mother, by the way, but is normally proves to be true.

Two of my friends/future family members got engaged just a few days apart and I had a feeling there would be a third somewhere along the way.  Sure enough, my cousin D.J., proposed to his girlfriend Ashley on Monday at Ocean Isle!

So congratulations to all of my betrothed friends and family members!

And

Ashley and D.J.!

We thought this was a busy wedding year, next year is really starting to stack up!  Tiffany and Josh are planning for early spring, Amanda is looking at September and my cousin Jim and his fiancĂ© Malorie are planning for October.  I can’t wait! It is going to be a fun and exciting year!

Speaking of weddings, I happen to think ours is coming along nicely.  I recently had the final meeting with the florist and he gave me a real “so happy I could cry moment”. He is really helping us out and giving an amazing deal! I couldn’t be happier and I am really excited to see his ideas come to life.  The response cards are still steadily coming in the mail, we have our marriage license (officially official!), and we finalized things with the caterer.

Today marks the official 30 day countdown! Let the festivities begin!!
